I’ve just joined a new site, which I learned about from Lavender. It’s called www.jpgmag.com, and it’s an online community that shares photography work as well as stories and submits them to be included in JPG Magazine. I couldn’t resist! There is some brilliant work being displayed there, so I decided to give it a whirl. I’ve just submitted my first photo in the “Zen” category. Go check it out and vote for my picture, of course!

I am preparing for my annual entry into the SPPA annual competition. There are monthly competitions with each meeting, which are great fun, and low-key. But each year in February there is a formal competition with certified PPA judges, a nice banquet hall, yummy food, and a chance to view and study some fabulous work from local professional photographers. In addition, this year we’ll be having some work from area high school students on display! I can’t wait! Here is one image I’ve chosen to submit.

‘09 is here, and with it comes a fabulous new web site! I have some lofty plans to make this a fun place to visit, as well as a good resource for information. January is a great time for those of us in the photo business to make plans for the coming year.
