This really cool show – Shen Yun – is coming to Chicago on April 10-11, and I won’t be there to see it. Boo Hoo! I hope someone I know in Chi-town will go, and then tell me all about it…

no, I didn't take this photo - it's from the article that's linked above!

I am usually not a tech type person, but this new sensor technology sounds really great. Not only will it yield better quality with simpler cameras, but the big guys are bound to get in on it and put it in the professional cameras as well. Considering my camera weighs a solid 4 pounds, I’m happy about anything that can make it simpler. Especially since I often shoot one-handed. Thanks for the tip, Art!

It was so much fun at the beach, we went back for more! Keep checking back – there was so much interest, there might just be one last call…

We headed to the beach just before sunset yesterday to take advantage of the sunshine and pleasant temperatures in Seattle. Gorgeous! I love it when nature provides the good stuff. Isn’t photography fun?
These photos were taken as part of my Beach Photo FUNdraiser for Room Nine Community School. We opened up two more spots for next weekend, so let me know if you’d like to participate.

I find that photography opens my eyes to fun that I might not have found otherwise. Had I not gone and played in the snow with this family that morning, I probably would have wasted my time watching TV or something. I love winter, and Seattle pretty much didn’t have one this year. We saw a snowflake or two float down from the sky one evening, but that was the extent of it. I’m so glad I had the chance to romp around in the snow at least once this year.

At the SPPA monthly competition, I was awarded second place in the Wedding category for this photo!

These kids have been so much fun to work with, and it thrills me that they get to be a part of my competition experiences! I think the best part about this photo is its genuine reflection of the children’s personalities. I admit I might tell people where to stand from time to time, but other than that, this moment is genuinely candid. These kids got all dressed up and *gasp* acted like kids! How wonderful! That’s what Lara Grauer Photography is all about – capturing those elements that make people who they are.
