Come and help me kick off my 6-month countdown to LGP’s 6th anniversary! On Saturday, March 3rd from 3:00-6:00 pm, come on out to Shoreline for some awesome kids’ portraits and a FUN time! I’ll be doing short sessions and offering a variety of portrait packages in exchange for a donation to Room Nine Community School’s PTSA. If you’re interested in purchasing prints in addition to your FUNdraiser package, you may do so. Additional purchases will be charged at regular prices. Location details will be given to those who reserve a time. Don’t miss your chance to get some great photos and support a great cause!

Spring break is coming up. Are you planning a vacation? Sign up for my workshop and learn some helpful hints to making better vacation photos. We’ll look at big challenges with taking pictures in the sunshine, and simple ways to overcome them.
Who should come: Moms & Dads and People with Cameras (kids in tow are okay)

The workshop originally scheduled for January 22, 2011 has been moved to January 29th. The class will meet from 3:00-4:00pm. Registration is $30, and 2 for $50 if you bring a friend! We will be covering how to compose and crop your photos for a better finished product!

I used to get pretty stressed out about group photos. I dreaded the “what ifs” about not getting the good one that I’m looking for.
There’s always the closed eyes,
or the stiff and unnatural bodies and expressions (loosen up, people!),
or maybe they’re not looking in the right direction (Yoo hoo, I’m over here!),
or maybe the people are just completely silly!
But with a little bit of direction, a tiny bit of patience, and A WHOLE LOT of clicks of the shutter, you’re bound to get something good. I’ve learned not to worry so much anymore. Nobody’s perfect, and I would never hope to be!

Happy Birthday to this guy. He’s now the big 1-2. The last pre-teenage year is a big one, isn’t it? We headed back to Richmond Beach for this session – one of my favorite Seattle area locations. It’s just so stinkin’ pretty! I can tell that mom is so proud of her son. And rightfully so. He is handsome, polite, self-confident, and creative!

Join me in Chicago Feb. 18th-20th to celebrate Jump Rhythm Jazz Project’s 20th anniversary! The show will revive several pieces from the last two decades, as well as unveil some new work from this awesome company! My job: capture the event in photographs! I look forward to the challenge!
