Fulfillment doesn’t come from “doing things right.” It comes from a conscious decision to be present, act with courage, and look for the flash that keeps things fun.

Having raised 2 kids of her own, Lara helps audiences see the landscape that’s ahead through a lens of wisdom. Every day in her portrait studio, Lara sees the stress and overwhelm that working parents endure. She makes each photo shoot a fun experience so the sweet moments they capture can be real.

But a glimpse of real connection isn’t enough. Lara’s on a mission to help working parents bring what matters into focus, so they can skip the fake, cheesy smiles, and frame a life they’re excited to remember.

A Speaker Who Understands

Lara knows that true confidence doesn’t come from perfect lighting or flawless composition. It comes from showing up as you are, in full, honest focus. Lara loves to help audiences shift from keeping up appearances to intentionally developing their own lives, because that’s when joy and authenticity take shape.

A parent, photographer, entrepreneur, and recovering academic “super-nerd,” Lara holds a bachelor of science degree in Theatre and Linguistics from Northwestern University. In between her acting and photography careers, she worked as a dental hygienist – a surprising plot twist that helped her re-focus on what really matters (Uh, dental hygiene? Yes, that happened).

Over the years, she has taken on many leadership roles which allowed her to support stronger, healthier communities. She’s served organizations including the Professional Photographers of America, The Professional Photographers of Washington, The Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, and many others.

Her over-achiever tendencies have resulted in many accolades and awards that recognize her skills in photography, her commitment to excellence, and her ability to illuminate possibility in the communities she serves.

The ROI of Presence: Focusing Your Attention for Greater Results

Between work deadlines, sports & music practice, and never-ending piles of laundry, being “present” can feel impossible. But presence is actually one of the smartest investments you can make for your family, your work, and your sanity.

In this keynote, Lara shows busy parents how to bring life into focus and turn everyday chaos into meaningful moments that pay dividends for years to come. Using her R.O.I. framework, Lara gives audiences practical tools to frame each moment with intention, deepen connection, and rediscover joy in work, family, and life.
